Ristorante Paradiso is a manga series created by talented mangaka and illustrator, Ono Natsume. Rispara originally ran in Erotics F between volumes 33 and 38 (2005-2006) before being compiled into a single volume (June 2006). The story was continued several months later under a new title, GENTE ~Ristorante no Hitobito~. Gente was later compiled into three complete volumes. An eleven episode anime series produced by David Production began its television broadcast in Spring 2009, adapting content from both Rispara and Gente.

21-year-old Nicoletta was raised in the Italian countryside by her grandparents after her divorced mother, (Olga) left to find a new husband in the city. A kind but willful girl, Nicoletta heads to Rome as an adult to deal with the flighty Olga, but unexpectedly finds herself drawn to the restaurant owned by her step-father, Lorenzo. Ristorante Casetta Dell'orso is a fine dining establishment with a difference: it is staffed entirely by handsome older gentlemen wearing glasses. Initially cynical about the endeavor, after meeting the gentle waiter Claudio, Nicoletta becomes determined to succeed as an apprentice in the Casetta Dell'orso kitchen.

Classed as a slice-of-life or light drama series, Ristorante Paradiso is a wonderfully paced, character-driven experience. It closesly examines the lives and loves of older people in an intelligent and thought-provoking manner. Plus it makes you kind of want to order up some delicious Italian cuisine!.
